Expanded Focus on Produce

Hello friends and colleagues, I am very excited to announce that I recently joined the team at Birko as director of business development and food safety for produce. My new role will be to help Birko continue to expand its food safety expertise in the produce sector. This will involve letting fruit and vegetable producers know about Birko’s antimicrobial interventions and how they can be used to reduce pathogens from the manufacturing process of food. Birko also manufactures concentrated chemical formulations for CIP and sanitation, and has state-of-the-art chemical dispensing equipment.

I will continue to serve on several produce industry committees with many of you including the United Fresh Produce Association’s food safety and technology council and the Produce Marketing Association’s produce safety, science and technology committee.
