Birko Selected as a Colorado Companies to Watch Winner
HENDERSON, Colo. – Birko, a leader in providing food safety solutions to the protein processing, food and beverage industries, has been selected as a 2012 Colorado Companies to Watch winner.
Birko is one of just 50 companies to receive the distinction of being named to the Colorado Companies to Watch class of 2012. The program honors growth-focused companies that develop valuable products and services, create quality jobs, enrich communities and create new industries throughout Colorado. Colorado Companies to Watch is overseen by the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade and is judged by leaders in both the public and private sectors.
“We’re honored to be recognized for our success in contributing to Colorado’s economy,” said Kelly Green, Birko’s owner/chairman of the board. “We’re especially proud of the hard work and vision provided by our CEO, Mark Swanson, as the driving force for our growth and acquisition strategy. Mark has helped position us as a leading manufacturer in the vital food safety industry.”
Companies selected for Colorado Companies to Watch receive a year’s worth of publicity. Each company will be assigned a week during the program year, designated as a week to celebrate that company being named to the Colorado Companies to Watch list. In addition, the 2012 winners list will be published in the June issue of ColoradoBIZ magazine. Winning companies will also be profiled by Colorado Public Television 12, with a 30-second spot airing during the company’s week-long celebration.
“We’re pleased to recognize Birko for their outstanding contribution in fueling the economic fire of our wonderful state,” said Sam Bailey, program director of Colorado Companies to Watch.
