Birko Partners with Garden Cut on Food Safety Program

HENDERSON, Colo. – Birko, a leader in providing food safety solutions to the produce industry, has partnered with Garden Cut, a specialty division of Indianapolis Fruit, Indianapolis, IN.

Birko supplies Garden Cut with specialized sanitation chemistry, including:

  • CL33, an economical liquid self-foaming, chlorinated cleaner intended for use in high silicate water
  • 10-Chlor™, an EPA-registered 10% sodium hypochlorite bleach suitable for cleaning and sanitizing
  • Fomacid™, a concentrated, self-foaming acid cleaner used once monthly to flip the environment and lower the PH, and also brightens stainless steel
  • Way-Vos™, a low foaming, heavy duty liquid alkaline CIP cleaner containing water conditioners, wetting agents and corrosion inhibitors
  • Quadra-Quat™, a 7.5% active, four-way quaternary ammonium sanitizer/disinfectant

In addition, Birko worked with Garden Cut’s management and sanitation crew to develop best practices sanitation procedures as well as improved peracetic acid (PAA) dispensing by providing a more controlled pumping and monitoring mechanism.
