Since 1953 BIRKO has been providing the meat, poultry and food industries with the specialty chemicals they need for cleaning, sanitation and as aids in production. BIRKO’s product line is extensive with more than two hundred formulations used in federally inspected meat plants and wherever cleanliness, food safety and quality have the highest priority.
BIRKO offers everything from cleaners and sanitizers to processing and rendering agents. A few of these are sourced from outside suppliers. Many BIRKO formulations are EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) registered and more than a few products are patented. BIRKO products comply with all FDA requirements for the food processing industry.
We are proud of the fact that most of our products are biodegradable while meeting the highest performance standards of the food industry.
To insure that optimum levels of mixed chemical are used for their correct purpose BIRKO now manufactures our own line of chemical dispensing equipment with years of in-plant experience behind its functional design. All products and equipment come with BIRKO training and service.
The most important issue in the food industry is food safety. As a leader in our industry, BIRKO will continue to work diligently to develop new, safer and more effective products and to improve our long-established practice of in-plant technical support. Providing our customers with the chemicals they need to keep their plants clean, sanitary and safe is a responsibility that we at BIRKO take very seriously.
BIRKO’S BRAND OF SERVICE
In addition to our chemists, BIRKO has highly trained and thoroughly experienced Technical Representatives. Their job is to provide our customers with comprehensive in-plant consultation in all areas of sanitation, chemical product usage and custom equipment acquisition as well as employee training in proper sanitation procedures and the safe use of chemicals. For critical situations BIRKO representatives, located in the principal meat producing areas throughout the United States are available to visit any processing operation within 24 hours, 7 days a week.
