CON-TACT-IT® Test Kits

Birko’s CON-TACT-IT® Bacteria Detection System makes bacterial sampling easy, precise and economical. CON-TACT-IT® is excellent for monitoring sanitation programs and can also be used to detect airborne contaminants, all without special training. Anyone can learn to run semi-quantitative bacteria checks in a matter of minutes and get accurate, reliable results with Birko’s easy-to-use bacteria detection system for environmental surfaces.

Simple Bacteria Sampling

Follow these four simple steps…

  1. Just pull a fresh piece of sampling tape out of the tape dispenser onto the sampling head and press it to the surface to be tested, then press it to one of eight squares on a CON-TACT-IT® petri plate, leaving one empty as a control. Record the surface sampled next to the number of the square on a work sheet.
  2. When all the squares are used and recorded, replace the cover.
  3. Incubate the plate at the recommended temperature for 18 to 24 hours.
  4. Results can be read by eye, without magnification.
