Mike Gangel Award

Industry Advancement Award, North American Meat Institute (NAMI)

Each year, NAMI presents the Industry Advancement Award to one individual or organization whose professional contributions have had a significant and positive impact on the meat and poultry processing industry. Birko’s Mike Gangel won NAMI’s Industry Advancement Award for his innovation and leadership in food safety technology, which has helped the industry produce safe food products that exceed customer expectations.

2015 Colorado Manufacturing Award Finalist, ColoradoBiz

For the second year in row, Birko was named a finalist in the 2015 Made in Colorado manufacturing awards, sponsored by ColoradoBiz magazine. This year’s recognition was for Ultra Niter™ and X-Puma™, products that are more effective, energy efficient, sustainable and safer for cleaning brewery equipment than the traditional hot caustic method.

For the second time in two years, Birko chairman and owner, Kelly Green, was recognized as a finalist for the “Outstanding Women in Business” awards sponsored by the Denver Business Journal. Kelly was again honored in the large business category.

2014 Colorado Manufacturing Award Winner, ColoradoBiz

Birko was named a winner of the Made in Colorado manufacturing awards, sponsored by ColoradoBiz magazine. The award was specifically for Birko’s Beefxide®, a USDA-approved intervention which has been demonstrated effective against E. coli and Salmonella. This competition recognized 25 Colorado-based manufacturers, including Birko, as being “the best and brightest of Colorado’s creators of goods and products.”

Birko chairman and owner, Kelly Green, was named to the 2014 list of “Women of Influence in the Food Industry,” by The Griffin Report of Food Marketing. Honorees were chosen for their contributions to the food industry, their professionalism and the awareness they have generated for the potential of womens’ careers in the food business.
