Birko manufactures more than 250 cleaning, sanitation and production process chemicals as well as solutions used in antimicrobial interventions. Many Birko formulations are on the USDA NOP (National Organic Program) list of allowed products for use by organic processors, and many others are registered with the EPA as environmentally friendly or “environmentally neutral.”
Our team of HACCP-certified experts is well qualified to provide complete in-plant cleaning, chemical and sanitation audits in addition to assisting in the design and application of Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and HACCP compliance. We also provide assistance with employee training, chemical management, custom equipment procurement and implementation. Our other services include custom chemical blending and clean-in-place (CIP) applications.
Birko supplies over 50% of the Top 100 U.S. protein companies and 80% of the top 10 U.S. beef processors. Our protein processing customers are some of the largest in the world and include Cargill, JBS, Tyson, AB Foods, American Beef Packers, Creekstone and National Beef.
Among our craft brewing customers, 25% won awards at the last Great American Beer Festival. Our brewing customers include Avery Brewing Company, Allagash Brewing Co., Boulder Beer Co., Great Basin Brewing Co., Left Hand Brewing Co., Nebraska Brewing Co., New Belgium Brewing Co., Stone Brewing Co., Trinity Brewhouse and many other well-known craft brewers and restaurants.
Birko is the only company to offer an entire range of products free of butyl solvents and the only chemical manufacturer to sit on the International HACCP Alliance that can support requirements for the British Retail Consortium (BRC), the Safe Quality Food Institute (SQF) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
